Green Fem Producers Company

Green Fem Producer Company Limited (GFPCL), supported by NABARD, is a Private Limited Indian Non-Government Company incorporated in India on 01 January 2020 and it helps women entrepreneurs to market their products. Majority of the women are informal workers hailing from various parts of the city, Alanganallur , Tirupparankundram, Melur and Vadipatti. Its registered office is in Madurai, India. Green Fem consists of a dedicated network of 350 grassroots-level entrepreneurs who actively produce and promote a diverse range of environmentally friendly products. These offerings include jute cloth bags, herbal sanitary napkins, organic foods, value-added products, natural soaps, pancha kavya diyas (lamps), and more. These women entrepreneurs supply their eco-friendly products to a variety of institutions, organizations, hospitals, colleges, government offices, and other retail outlets. The marketing efforts for these products are carried out collectively by Green Fem.

However, the women entrepreneurs of Green Fem face several challenges, particularly in their direct manufacturing of jute and cloth bags. These challenges can be summarized into three main obstacles:

Limited Machinery: They lack access to higher-end machinery required to produce high-quality finished products, hindering their ability to meet market demands effectively.

Financial Constraints: Access to small credit for purchasing raw materials is limited, which restricts their capacity to scale up production and diversify their product offerings.

Resource and Infrastructure Gaps: There is a lack of access to essential resources such as advanced machinery, design development support, and centralized facilities. This lack of infrastructure undermines their production efficiency, despite their technical skills and strong determination to improve their livelihoods.

Green Fem's women entrepreneurs are motivated and skilled, but these challenges hinder their full potential. PEACE has partnered with Green Fem to address these obstacles to unlock their entrepreneurial capacity and enable them to make a more significant impact in the eco-friendly product market.
